SunSeeker Doors is a leading manufacturer and installer of high-quality doors in the UK. In 2024, Boujee Brands was tasked with modernizing their online presence while maintaining their established brand identity.

SunSeeker Doors’ WordPress-based website needed an update to meet modern standards, but they couldn't afford to lose their existing Google rankings or experience downtime. This presented us with a unique set of challenges:

  • Update the design and SEO without altering the overall brand feel
  • Improve performance and user experience
  • Maintain or improve Google rankings
  • Execute the transition without any downtime

Our Approach

1. Migration and Optimization

We began by migrating the site to a faster hosting service. This seemingly simple step is often overlooked but can have a significant impact on overall site performance. Fast hosting is crucial for maintaining low latency and high uptime, both of which are key factors in user satisfaction and search engine rankings.

Next, we tackled the backend bloat. We reduced the number of WordPress plugins from over 40 to around 10. This streamlining process is delicate – each plugin removal must be carefully considered to ensure no critical functionality is lost. The result? A leaner, faster website that's easier to maintain and less prone to conflicts or security vulnerabilities.

2. Custom Theme Development

Rather than attempting to update the existing theme, we made the strategic decision to develop a new theme from scratch. While this approach requires more upfront work, it allowed us to:

  • Create a modern, efficient codebase
  • Precisely replicate the original design aesthetics
  • Implement best practices for performance and SEO from the ground up

This custom theme became the foundation for all our subsequent improvements.

We hugely improved the site's usability on mobile devices, ensuring that all content is easily accessible and navigation is intuitive, regardless of screen size. We also placed a strong emphasis on accessibility improvements.

3. Performance Optimization

Performance optimization was a key focus area, with impressive results:

4. Conversion Rate Optimization

Another focus of our redesign was optimizing the product pages and improving overall conversion rates. We began with a product page overhaul, adding higher quality images, incorporating detailed, benefit-focused product descriptions, and adding FAQ sections. The quote request form was simplified and optimized for user experience, and we designed and implemented mini quick quote widgets on product pages, allowing users to start the quote request process without leaving the page. Our changes improved conversion rate by around 50%.
